Float Theme : You Make My Dreams Come True
How/Why Theme Was Chosen:
When this year’s Rose Parade theme was announced, it was a natural for RFD-TV to design its float around Daryl Hall performing “You Make My Dreams Come True”. Daryl’s house, an actual country farm home in upstate New York which also serves as his studio for production of his television show, is replicated to provide the perfect backdrop for this special performance as the Grand Finale for the 125th Rose Parade
How Float Theme Relates to Parade Theme:

Daryl’s House is representative of so many rural homesteads served by RFD-TV where families have their “dreams come true” by embracing the simple values depicted throughout the float that are so symbolic of rural America – a swing, dogs, cats, and children – in a wide open atmosphere. It’s the family farm/ranch that make dreams come true for so many in this great country.

Float Concept Description:
“You Make My Dreams Come True” is an ode to musician Daryl Hall and his show “Live from Daryl’s House” which can be seen on RFD-TV and Family Net. In keeping with the 2014 Tournament of Roses Theme “Dreams Come True”, RFD-TV’s sixth float in the Rose Parade depicts settings from Daryl’s house on his Huckleberry Farm estate in New York. The front of the float is fashioned after the great room that Daryl and various musicians use as a recording studio. Daryl Hall and his band will be playing LIVE on the float during the parade from this location. The rear portion of the room will be fashioned after the very kitchen that is seen in the show, which if you look closely is re-created to match the houses’ authentic detail. Behind the great room, a porch swing that sits in a very colorful meadow of flowers. The swing will feature Hall’s family members, complete with decorated cats that Hall has featured on his shows. Following the lively and vibrant meadow to a replica of Hall’s estate, which is the house that “Live from Daryl’s House” is filmed. The beautiful home where the monthly series is broadcast from is actually on a portion of land that scales 245 acres, in this setting the home will sit on a 55-foot float.
