How/Why Theme Was Chosen:
At Farmers Insurance, we believe in smart and are very proud of our long-time support of education. Just last week, actor and two-time Golden Globe-award nominee, Jack Black helped Farmers launch a national initiative inviting America to make 2014 the year to “Thank A Million Teachers.” In 2014, Farmers will also give a million dollars” to classrooms and education programs across the country. Through the Thank A Million Teachers program, Farmers is inviting the public to thank the educators who have made a difference in their lives and the lives of their children on their specially dedicated website, www.ThankAMillionTeachers.com. In return, Farmers has committed up to $1,000,000 in funds to help teachers. We believe that Farmers’ 55-year presence in the Rose Parade® offers the ideal platform to celebrate and draw attention to America’s teachers, who touch millions of lives by making us all smarter and more responsible citizens.
How Float Theme Relates to Parade Theme:
Teachers and educators help to make “Dreams Come True” each and every day. They go the extra mile to shape our children’s lives and build a stronger tomorrow. Every person and every family has a story of a teacher who has had a lasting impact on someone’s life. We understand that the role of the teacher goes beyond the classroom and impacts our entire community. That’s why we want to recognize every teacher for the difference they make every day and the dreams they help inspire.
